Sleepover

I recently heard an interview with author and twin Abigail Pogrebin on NPR where she talks about how important it is for parents of twins to spend some one on one time with each child separately.

So Craig and I decided to have "dates" with Sophie and Hannah. Time that we spend with the girls even if it's just bringing one of them along with us as we run an errand. This weekend Sophie had a sleepover with Mom Mom and Pop Pop. Her first real sleepover alone. And Hannah had a special day with us. First let me just say...one child is SO easy! We took Hannah out to the mall with us and let her walk around and explore. Then we went out to eat. We were actually able to interact with Hannah and eat our dinner. What a concept.

Initially we were concerned that the separation would be hard on them. Were they too young? Would they be able to sleep by themselves? Would they be upset and confused? Puh-lease! I could swear I heard Hannah say "Don't let the door hit your tuchus on the way out!" Just kidding. But they both seemed to really enjoy themselves.

Here are some photographs of Sophie's date with Mom Mom at the play area in the mall.

Checking out the sliced bananas.
And the strawberries.
Hanging out by the shredded wheat.
