At the Pool

Craig asked what we were doing that afternoon and I said "We're going to the pool". He pointed out the window and said "You mean out on the front lawn?" Yes, exactly!

Our pool:
The sand, I mean water table.
Testing the water.
Drinking the water (from the water table, eek).
Hannah kept walking over to Craig and asking me to take a picture:)

ExCUSE Me!

For some reason, Sophie and Hannah are really into wipes right now. They always ask for them when I change their diapers. And when I give them one they say "Two! Two wipes!". Or Hannah says "New wipe!" when she's done with hers. I can't for the life of me figure out why she needs a new wipe.

And today Sophie was "cleaning" the couch with a wipe saying "Dirt. Ewww! Dirt. Ewww!" Over and over again. Ha ha. I don't know why she was saying that because the couch wasn't dirty and there wasn't any dirt on the wipe. But she was very serious about the "dirt".

But here is where I win Mother of the Year. I have been teaching them about "please" and "thank you". Somehow we got on the subject of burping and saying "excuse me". To demonstrate, I pretended to burp loudly and in a high pitched voice I would say "ExCUSE Me!" So now they say "Burp Mommy!" And for the next 10 minutes I pretend burp and say "excuse me!". They think it's a riot. The upside is they now say "excuse me" after they burp. I know the lady next to us at Hobby Lobby was impressed.

And on a similar subject, they like to let us know when they fart (as if we can't tell). Or better yet when someone else farts. So if Sophie passes gas Hannah will say "Sophie fart!" One time Sophie passed gas while sitting on Craig lap. Hannah said "Daddy fart!" Craig said "No, that was Sophie." Hannah turned to me and said "Daddy fart. Daddy fart!" Craig was extremely offended.

Sand Table=Success....Sort of

The sandbox in it's newly assembled, pristine state. Crystal clear water on one side. Soft white sand on the other.
Bathing Beauties.
Cuteness.
Oops. A little sand on the deck.
Splash. Splash. BTW That used to be the "sand" side of the table.
A little sisterly love. That's Sophie rubbing sand into Hannah's back.
Nice try Sophie.
Uh oh...time to go inside!
(Sigh)
They also tried (successfully) to rip the umbrella out of the table. Pour sand into the flower beds. Pour sand into the cracks of the deck. Dip their sunhats into the water, as well as their glasses, my glasses and my water cup.

They did take excellent naps shortly after:)

Friends

Hooray! My friends Linda and Teddy came to Denver to visit family. We met for lunch and had a great time catching up. Sophie and Hannah had so much fun with them. I'm so sad they live so far away.

Linda and Teddy.
Sophie and Hannah were 3 months old the last time they saw them.
Fun at Noodles. The perfect place for Sophie. A girl who could turn into a noodle for all the pasta she likes to eat.
After lunch we went for a walk. We happened to pass a Build A Bear store and Linda and Teddy insisted on getting something for the girls. I had never been to a Build A Bear store. It was so much fun.
What to choose...a bunny or a bear?
Sophie picking out a heart. They were really into those hearts!
Waiting her turn.
Almost done!
Bunny gets a shower.
Uhm, do you think they like their new bunnies? They immediately snuggled up with them as soon as we got home. When Daddy got home from work, the girls showed off their new toys saying "Bunny! Heart!"
Thanks Linda and Teddy! We miss you already!

You know his Muno shirt is awesome!
Cake!
And presents.
Aunt Leigh Leigh.

Blowing out the candles.
All about the cake.
All about the Yo Gabba Gabba cake toppers.
Mom Mom gave us PBK chairs!
Of course the first thing we did was turn them upside down!
It was a fun day but it wasn't too long before a nap was in order.

Happy Birthday Sophie! Happy Birthday Hannah!

Happy Birthday my little Love Bugs! I can't believe you're TWO!

I would love to say we spent the day doing all sorts of fun things but they were not in the mood. They didn't really want to go to the park. They didn't want to take a bath. They didn't want to eat any of their favorite foods. And they most certainly didn't want to go to Sears Portrait Studio to have their pictures taken. The did however have fun at Costco (I had to go there to order their cake.) All the sample ladies thought they were so cute in their matching outfits and gave them all the samples their little hearts desired.

At the park. They spent most of the time running away from me.
Or crawling into the tunnel to pull of their sneakers.
Or trying to climb up this thing even though I told them not to (a million and one times).
See that face? That face says "I'm a stinker!" Stinker.
Rocks are fun.
Willingly taking turns on the "horse".
And finally...a birthday kiss!
