Happy Hanukkah! UPDATE

We had a nice first night of Hanukkah! First we met up with Mom Mom and Pop Pop for lunch. Hooray! Mom Mom brought us some presents and that was all we talked about for most of the day. Then we had dinner with Opa and Bubby. After a post dinner cupcake courtesy Opa and Bubby, we opened a present from Nana. Another big hit. Between the sugary cupcake and the exciting new toys, no one wanted to go to bed. After a few tears (from Sophie) and stalling (from Hannah) they finally fell asleep.

UPDATE: In an effort to make bedtime easier on everyone, I let the girls bring one toy with them. Sophie brought a latke to bed and Hannah brought a piece of gelt. I can't think of anything more fun than waking up at 2am to a toddler shouting "My gelt! My gelt! I can't find my chocolate gelt!" And then having to search under the covers and stuffed animals for the toy gelt.

Happy Hanukkah!
Opening presents.
Putting the menorah together.
Daddy helping Sophie make latkes.
Hannah was so proud of herself for putting the candles on the menorah. She ran to the other room shouting "Look Mommy!"

Fabulous post! Sophie and Hannah really got a sense of what Hannukah is about. Great gift from Nana!

Lisa, you are so funny when you write. I always laugh. Thanks Sandy for the compliment about the gift! I'm so glad it worked out.
