Secrets

This week I learned not to talk about what I'm getting Craig for his birthday in front of Sophie and Hannah. Who knew they were listening. I sure didn't. But that afternoon when Craig got home, Hannah said "You need a watch Daddy? You getting a watch for your birthday?" That's all they wanted to talk about.

Then I went to the mall to buy the present (a watch of course.) I spent some time looking at several different watches and when it was finally time to pay, I turned to Sophie and Hannah and said, "Now don't tell Daddy. It's a secret, okay." So what was the first thing out of Hannah's mouth when Craig got home? "We got you a watch Daddy!" Sophie chimed in with "It's a secret!" Awesome. Craig asked them all kinds of questions about the watch. What color is it. Is it nice. Sophie told him we bought two watches. I was trying to decide between two watches so I guess she thought I bought both of them. I don't know. Those stinkers. But they're really excited about his birthday this year and that's what really counts.
