I was sitting between Hannah and Sophie at the kitchen table. We had just finished dinner and I was peeling tangerines for them for dessert. The next thing I know, Hannah's chair had tipped over with Hannah in it. She had pushed off the table with her foot and since she was strapped into her booster seat, she hit the floor...hard. She started screaming and I picked her up right away. I knew it was bad but I didn't realize how bad until I saw all the blood.
I immediately called Craig but I was too hysterical to tell him what happened, just to come home right away (he was at the grocery store). I called 911 and they sent a firetruck, ambulance and police officer. They got here within minutes and Craig arrived the same time as the ambulance. Hannah was starting to calm down at that point (I was still a mess) but it was clear she needed to go to the ER. The back of her shirt was soaked in blood. By the time the EMT guys left, she was giving us smiles. Sweetheart. All in all she needed two staples for her cut. My daughter has two staples in her head. It is frightening just how useless I am in situations like this. I was such a mess that the EMTs told Craig to check on me to make sure I was okay.
I can honestly say this was the worst night of my life but I am just so thankful that Hannah is okay.

It makes me want to cry just reading this. Whew! Interesting how Sophie was able to pull HERSELF together and try to help you! I look forward to seeing you all next week!
OMG, so scared. Thanks God, she is fine and that Sophie gave support.
