Fetch the Baby

Sophie and Hannah turned 9 months yesterday...and I didn't realize it until this morning! Yesterday was a blur. I spent what seemed like the entire day playing Fetch The Baby with Hannah.

What is Fetch The Baby? Why I'm glad you asked! It's setting your baby down on the floor then seconds later retrieving her from whatever trouble she has managed to crawl her way into. For example, as soon as I set her down Hannah goes right to the stairs. And when she does make it up the three steps, she doesn't go into the carpeted living room danger free zone. No, she goes right to the kitchen with the hardwood floors and the cabinets I haven't gotten around to baby proofing. She also tries to climb into the bouncy seat. She used to try to bang on the glass cabinet in the family room but now (that I've blocked it off) she reaches her arm underneath the cabinet. I don't know why. There's nothing under there so I don't know what it is she's looking for. She has no desire to play in the exersaucer but she loves to pull herself up on the outside of the exersaucer and play with it like that. And Sophie is always there, watching from the sideline...giggling. I'm convinced that they have some sort of baby communication going on where Sophie is secretly egging her on.

Oh we are playing this delightful game as well. Can you imagine how it will be when they both are going in opposite directions?
