Dance Dance Sophie Hannah

I put on the radio before bedtime so they would dance and tire themselves out. I said why don't you hold hands and dance together and they did! (Sigh)

Lessons Learned

What I learned this week:

Sidewalk chalk stains tables and doors and window ledges. And Sophie is tall enough to grab whatever I put on the ledge by the door (like a box of sidewalk chalk).

And Hannah is really into socks this week. She wears them all.the.time. On her hands. She was wearing them when I dropped her off at daycare. And still had them on when I picked her up two hours later!

Socks and graham crackers.
More sock love.
Looking just like her daddy.

The big news is Sophie is finally starting to talk! Yay. She's Miss Chatty Cathy. She still breaks out the Sophie talk every now and then when she's excited but for the most part she's starting to speak english. And she's answering me when I ask her a question. This always surprises me because I'm so used to asking just to ask.

Poor Sophie wasn't feeling well. She just got over a stomach bug and now I think she's getting a cold. She definitely wasn't in the mood for pictures.

Laugh Laugh

Right now Sophie and Hannah are making each other laugh. This is a big deal because for the longest time I didn't think they really liked each other. Actually Sophie adores Hannah but Hannah usually acts like Sophie is bothering her. Or Sophie tries to play with Hannah and Hannah just wants to do her own thing.

Lately however Sophie has been making Hannah laugh out loud. Usually it's by doing something naughty like touching the blinds in the play room. They know they're not allowed to do it but Sophie will look at Hannah and touch the blinds and they both start cracking up. Another time we were at Target and I had parked the stroller within reach of a price tag. So Sophie touched it with her foot and Hannah started giggling.

It's so sweet.

Thanks

Thanks to everyone who de-lurked last week. All 5 or 6 of you;) It was fun seeing your comments.

Jenni from The Foster Family wanted to know if I'm done having children.
And that answer would be a big "Yes!" I can't imagine what it would be like to chase after three kids. Eek.

Sara from Twice As Nice wanted to know my favorite quality in Sophie and Hannah.

They both have beautiful smiles but there is something about Sophie's smile that melts my heart. It's just the sweetest smile. And her giggle. When Hannah giggles it's because she's being silly but Sophie's is pure joy.

Hannah is the devilish one and big ham but when we're together and I'm singing to her she looks right in my eyes like she just adores me. She's always done this even when she was a baby. Like she just can't believe I'm hers. And she is so affectionate. She's always snuggling on me when I hold her or rubbing my back or playing with my hair.

Okay, enough with the mushy stuff. Sara also wanted to know how I manage to keep my house clean. Haha. My house is far from clean. It's all in the cropping Sara:

Clean House
Messy House
This isn't the best example because it was just after the girls got up. It's a lot messier later in the day. Tonight I had to sweep out a pile of Cheerios from the toy closet if that gives you any idea of what it's like around here.

And some random pictures:
Hannah fell asleep while eating Cheerios with her hand still in the cup. When I woke her up to put her in the car seat she took her hand out, put the Cheerios in her mouth like she never stopped in the first place.

National Delurking Week

It's that time again...National Delurking Week. Time to give my blog some love. So please leave a comment and tell me all about yourself and how you found my blog. Because I really want to know who you are. That means you Varten, Austria. And you too Tallinn, Harjumaa;)
So tell me something about yourself and feel free to ask me a question. Such as "Are you really as witty and charming in person as you seem in your blog?" I promise to post the answers at the end of the week. And yes, as a matter of fact I am just as witty and charming in person!

Dance Dance

Sophie and Hannah love to dance but Sophie really likes to get her groove on. We were all sitting on the couch watching Yo Gabba Gabba. Sophie would move her shoulders a little bit and then (because she couldn't control herself anymore) her little legs would kick up. Finally we said "Sophie, do you want to get down so you can dance?" She said "Yes!" And hopped of the couch so she could really put down some moves. Oh and she has this new move that I call the "chicken wing". Adorable.

And speaking of Yo Gabba Gabba, Sophie gets scared when Biz's Beat of the Day comes on. She lays down on the floor and turns her head the other way until it's over. Poor thing.

Tumblebugs

I was so excited when I found out that Sophie and Hannah were old enough to join a class at the YMCA. Tumblebugs! How cute is that?! I was nervous taking them to class myself because the last time I did something like that (story time), it was a disaster. But I was hopeful that a gym setting would be different.

When I walked in to the class there were hula hoops, balls and mats in various places throughout the gym. During the first 5 minutes the toddlers just sort of run around and do what they want. Sophie and Hannah couldn't believe it. Hula hoops?! Balls of all different sizes and colors?! Does it get any better than that? They were giggling and running crazy all over the gym. Then it was time for the group activities. We sang some songs. That wasn't too bad although I spent most of that time retrieving one or the other from different areas of the gym. Then Sophie decided it was all too much and she'd had enough. At one point during a song I said "Sophie, let's kick our feet." And she hit me. Uh oh. Then whenever I tried to her in an activity, she would start crying (screaming). I would then pick her up and go to over to a corner and just hold her. Eventually she would get curious and I would walk back to the group. Then someone would look at Sophie and back to the corner we went. Poor thing.

Hannah on the other hand had a blast. She developed a crush on Christy, one of the girls helping run the class. Alls he wanted was Christy. I bent down to pick her up for one of the songs and she ignored me, walked over to Christy and held up her arms. Seriously. She had never met the girl until today. At one point the toddlers were supposed to race from one end to the other. Hannah wanted no part in that until I pointed to Christy across the room and said "Run to Christy!" And off she went!

I was so tired by the end of the class. And so were Sophie and Hannah. They were asleep by the time I pulled out of the parking lot. And because I am a glutton for punishment, we will be back next week. Go Tumblebugs!

Sophie Love

Tonight as I was putting Sophie to bed I asked her if she loved me and she said (very clearly) "Yes!"
