I belong to a Mom group in my area. They do a lot of meet ups and I have only been to one which was a story time at the local library. The girls were 6 or 7 months at the time and not very active. Hannah could roll but Sophie at that point was barely sitting up. No problem. Story time was a lot of fun! A huge success. Fast forward to today... Well, I'm trying to think of the best word to describe it. Mortified? Disaster? Mayhem?
I set them down and immediately Sophie goes left and Hannah goes right. When they weren't spending time squashing or trying to squash the other babies snacks, they were trying to get into all the other mom's diaper bags. When they weren't trying to knock over the trash can, they were trying to chew the other mom's shoes. When they weren't doing everything I just mentioned, they were underneath the table in the back playing with the thermostat cover. Music? Clapping? Stories? No thank you! We want to play with the door stop.
The other moms went from being very friendly and nice to looking at me with a mixture of sympathy and horror. I think (I hope) it was more sympathy than horror. Before you say to yourself "Well, it couldn't be that bad." May I remind you that my girls were the only ones trying to eat the other moms' shoes.

You're right - it sounds like it was as bad as you said it was. But, as always, your commentary is hilarious!
Ok, I know I shouldn't laugh but the resemblance to our own girls is uncanny! Both my hubby and I can totally see our girls doing the same in a few months (or now?). I so enjoy reading about your adventures with your girls :-)
Let's go to storytime together when I come to visit! Two against two. I can't wait to see them get into mischief! But really, it would be fun and I could help.
I always try to bring a helper when I can to things like this. *L* Just imagine what it will be like when they are 2 years old. LOL!
