Flu Shots
Today was the day we had to get flu shots. I got mine yesterday and brought the girls with me. I thought if they saw that I wasn't scared then maybe they wouldn't be scared. One the way to the doctor's office, Hannah and Sophie both told me that they were going to be brave and they were "not going to cry."
The problem with twins is one of them is going to have to go first. That means the other is going to get a preview of what's to come. I decided to have Hannah go first and she cried. I know it really hurt. Then Sophie started crying. I had to pick her up and put her on the table. At that point Hannah started crying "I don't want Sophie to get a shot!". It was really sad but so sweet that she wanted to protect her sister. Heartbreaking. Sophie cried too. But both were feeling much better by the time we got to the car.
I asked Hannah if it felt like a little bug bite. She said "It was more like a bumblebee." I thought that was funny because she's never been stung by a bee yet she knew that a bee would hurt more than a bug.
And then when we got home, Sophie got theatrical about the whole thing by stating her shot hurt so much that she couldn't walk. I had to carry her upstairs to her room. She was perfectly fine 15 minutes later when walked into my room to tell me she didn't want to take a nap. Good grief.

Catch of the Day
Labor Day weekend in the mountains. Mom Mom and Pop Pop bought the girls fishing rods and we went to a pond stocked with trout.
Craig is about to catch a fish. Notice the dandelion in Hannah's hand?
The fish. Hannah told Mom Mom when she was getting ready for bed, "Daddy caught a big one. And it was green!"
The release. Hannah wasn't impressed at the time because as soon as we released the fish she shouted, "Look Pop Pop! A dandelion!" Because it's not like we don't have a billion of them in our yard at home.

Always
And I keep meaning to add these pictures. Hannah usually wakes up before Sophie so we will do something special together. This time I brought out my wedding veil and let her wear it for awhile. Do you think she liked it?
Preschool!
The girls started preschool last week! They were so excited. I had been talking it up and telling them how much fun they were going to have. Fortunately there was only a minimal amount of crying (from Hannah). Sophie took one look at the puzzles on the table and barely waved goodbye. When I picked them up later that day, they were so chatty. They seemed to really have a good time.
All smiles.
