Picture of the Week

Are they the cutest or what?
I love that Hannah is looking at Sophie. And yes, they are reading a Chanukah book (in June).

Check out our awesome new swimming pool!

Check out our awesome new swimming pool. It's a swimming pool, sprinkler and slide...all in one!
I had just put the pool together and Hannah wanted to get right in. I told her she couldn't just yet because she was still wearing her underwear. So she took it off. In the yard. In front of all our neighbors.
The bathing suit is also new. She picked it out all by herself. She really wanted something with turtles on it but was happy to make do with polka dots and a tutu.
Don't the french braids just kill you. Sophie loved the giraffe.
Testing the slide. The giraffe's head already has a leak.
After 10 minutes of pool time, they decided they just wanted to wrap themselves in towels and sit on the front porch eating pretzels.

Summer

Nothing says summer more than...washing rocks?

I keep thinking of all the parenting magazines and blogs I read for interesting crafts and activities for Sophie and Hannah. I realized that I may be over thinking it just a little bit.

Playing with tea cups and the water table.
Which quickly turned into coloring on rocks.
Which naturally segued into washing the rocks.
And the pouring of the water on the deck.
And back to making tea.
They also had a great time pouring water on my foot. This kept them occupied for an entire afternoon with little if any arguing or fighting.

Soccer

Sophie: I don't know about this. Remember ballet?
Hannah: I've got your back. It will be okay.
Gearing up.
Getting in the zone.
Besties
"Does this shirt make me look short?"
That's what I'm talkin' bout!
"Seriously, does this shirt make me look short?"
Uh...
...oh

Eating pretzels on the sidelines (remember ballet?)

Post game kiss.
Post game snack.

Happy Happy Birthday

My beautiful girls are THREE!

We had so much fun today. We had our last ballet class and Sophie even danced. We went to McDonald's after class so they could play on the tubes and slides. I hadn't planned on going but I once promised Sophie that I would take her to McDonald's if she participated in class. Who knew she that would decide to dance today and who knew that she would remember what I promised her three weeks ago. But I was happy to take them.

After a nice long nap, we waited for Daddy to get home so we could open one of our presents. (We are saving the rest for the party on Saturday).

Their present? New Ariel pajamas! They loved them!
"Are you ready for some cake?"
"Yeah, cake!"
Big Bird and Cookie Monster
Blowing out the candles.
Sophie does not like cake or anything sweet (except fruit) but she wanted to try the Cookie Monster cupcake. She ate a few bites and decided she was done. (Then Craig and I swooped in to finish it off.)
No such luck with Hannah. She wanted it ALL!

Can I just say that this age is so much fun. They are such amazing, beautiful, smart, fun, little girls. I have the best time with them.

Hannah is all about glamour. Make-up, hair, nail polish, bracelets, beads, heels. Glitter. And she chooses her outfits based on how they twirl. She is the biggest ham. When people ask her name, she tells them "Tutu." Everything is "Tutu." And my little peanut has also turned in to my best eater. She loves to try everything. Whatever the grown ups have on their plates, she wants it. Basalmic vinegar and blueberries, goat cheese on pasta? Yes, please!

Sophie is all about princesses. She loves all the Disney movies and can watch them over and over again. She loves Ariel most of all but she loves Jasmine and Belle too. She is always dancing around the playroom, shouting "I'm Ariel! I'm a mermaid!" We were at the library one day and happened to see a magazine about Disney princesses. I could not pull her away from it. And the singing. Oh the singing. She loves to sing...all the time. And she is still a Daddy's girl. Yesterday, Craig came downstairs in a suit and tie. Sophie was fascinated with the tie. All day long she let me know that her necklace was a tie...just like Daddy's. She also loves to cuddle and snuggle up with me. And she loves her books. The latest favorites are Chicken Soup with Rice, and a book about Best Friends.

One thing that they both do that I love is tell each other "I love you." That's the best.
