I'm pregnant!
It's official...I'm pregnant! I went in for my blood test this morning. I got up at 7am, drove almost for about an hour in rush hour traffic just so I could get to the clinic early. I wanted to be sure I got the results that day. I got the call from our nurse just as I was leaving to go to work. The conversation went something like this:
Suzie: We got your blood test results and your HCG came back at 777.
Me: Holy Moly!!!
Suzie: Yeah, how many did we put in there?
An average beta number is somewhere around 100-300.
We had a feeling the blood test would be positive because I took a home pregnancy test seven days earlier.

We had a feeling the blood test would be positive because I took a home pregnancy test seven days earlier.
I decided to test a week after my transfer which is really early. People usually test 2 weeks after their transfer. The test came up negative. Of course I started crying, threw the test in the trash and then got in the shower to get ready for work. About an hour later I pulled the test out of the trash to take another look (not unusual) and I saw a very, very, very faint line. I immediately decided it was an evaporation line or false positive because so much time had passed. I spent the rest of the day at work upset and feeling sick to my stomach. One might say I was nauseous, hmmm. Craig could tell I was upset about something but didn't know what. He offered to bring me dinner to cheer me up and I ended up telling him all about the "false positive".
The next morning I took two more tests and two lines showed up right away on both of them. Faint but definitely positive. I said "Oh my God" a few times, paced around the apartment with the pregnancy test in my hand, cried some and took pictures. Then I ran out to get a digital test. One that actually says "pregnant" or "not pregnant" and it came up "pregnant"! I called out sick at work and immediately started thinking about how I would tell Craig. I decided to send him an email with a picture of the test with the two lines because it wouldn't be as obvious and the detective in him would go for the challenge of figuring it out. I wrote in the subject "Do you know what this is?". I waited a few minutes then sent the picture with the test that actually says "pregnant" and wrote "How about this?". Then I waited for his call.
